Follow the below steps to install ubuntu in virtual box.
1. Open Virtual Box. Click on the 'new' menu situated at the top left corner of the window. After clicking on the button a window opens, you need to choose the name field as your choice(i.e Ubuntu) and then choose the type and Version(these are automatically populated). Then click on continue.
2. After clicking on continue next window will open as below. Here assign the RAM memory size according to your need.
3. After clicking on continue next window will open as below. Click on continue, no need to change anything in this window.
4. After clicking on continue next window will open as below. Then click on continue.
5. After clicking on continue next window opens as below. Here you need to allocate the virtual hard drive memory. Default is 8 GB here, you can increase the size according to your need.
6. Then click on Settings -> Storage. Next Click on empty under Controller: IDE (on left menu under Storage Tree). Then select the Choose Virtual Optical Disk File(On right Optical Drive drop down menu).
7. After uploading the image file, click on start to install ubuntu on virtual box. For details more watch the video tutorial.
